About this deal

From three-band EQs for shaping the bass, midrange, and treble frequencies, to drive, reverb, channel switches and more, this innovative amp maker pays attention to the details. The marsall code 50 amp is a compacked size, its very loud,it has lots of digital effects,so its a thumbs up from me. Bass, middle and treble are the norm with a presence on the output and this is the first Marshall I’ve not had to turn the treble right down to get a usable tone on in a long time. There’s a reason why so many guitarists swear by Marshall amps, from those initial modest creations to Pete Townshend’s first monstrous full stacks; from the mid-’60s combinations through Hendrix to backlines of several Marshall rigs.

I bought this model with my very first electric Schecter guitar, and this is my very first combo so I may be missing something. In addition, the Tilt control allows you to blend in a second, more treble-rich voice with the normal one, which was achieved on the classic 1987 and 1959 models by bridging the inputs. To this day, the combination of the amp and 4x12" cabinet - the "Marshall stack" - is synonymous with the energy and power of the Rock music genre. Instead it’s the MG50GFX at home, mostly with a good quality set of headphones and an hour or two disappears. The MG50 offers a great sound for gigging but also has an emulated headphone output for silent practice and an MP3/line in for jamming.

It has only a few signs of wear or use, none of which impact on the health, playability or tone of the instrument. A power reduction feature, PowerstemTM, perfectly matches your tone whether performing on stage or practicing in the studio. Cabinet simulations were also covered, with almost every kind of Marshall cab sound carefully captured.

By using the tilt control you can blend your sound between normal and high treble to access the sound that suits you. It improved the Marshall marginally, but the Fender still sounded better, even through the separate cabinet that I was using for the Marshall. The level of gain can be controlled independently of the output volume and can be further enhanced using the switchable boost function, conveying a genuine “Vintage Rock” spirit. Engaging the gain boost helped a bit if you have it on all the time, you have no extra boost left for soloing. Now fast forward a couple of months and Marshall contact me, informing me that they were releasing a range of amps that were described as “Classic Marshalls” and to be honest I thought OK a DSL with less gain maybe? The JVM Series from Marshall is the most comprehensive range of professional, all-valve amplifiers ever offered. This puristic 50-watt single-channel amp is fitted with two EL34 power tubes and delivers a sound reminiscent of the legendary JTM45 and JMP Super Lead 1987 amplifiers whilst offering contemporary features such as a master volume control, a gain boost function, and an effects loop. But what's even cooler is the ability to use 5 different effects simultaneously, meaning that you can combine modulation, distortion and time-based effects!
