About this deal
Still performance is adequate and I’m not wearing this to get noticed as I wear it for the nostalgia and it being an all time classic. To my nose it's very very woody and musky with the very prevalent calone note and citrics just peeking through, and greens even further in the background. I have heard several people telling me it is super tart and calone packed acquatic, the stuff your uncle would wear etc. This Eau de Toilette's composition is made up of fruit notes like yuzu and bergamot with spiced middle notes including nutmeg and blue lotus, and masculine base notes that include tobacco, musk and sandalwood. Bought again a few years ago for nostalgia and because I wanted a summertime scent, lasted aslong as summer in the UK!
It’s like standing by the side of a mildly-cool fresh river, with light florals (lotus) floating on top of it. Colours of the flacons - light grey and dark grey colour of asphalt make an impression of a union of water and concrete. I didn't want to wear it but it was early in the relationship and I didn't want to seem ungrateful or, bring up the story about the first bottle and the first girlfriend as an excuse to refuse. It feels like even though you dislike it as a young man who is starting to understand fragrances, apparently a lot of women in the comments here really like it, so it's got its use for the short amount of times you want to use it.It is best suited for casual occasions, like a Friday afternoon office party or a Sunday morning peek-a-boob with your mother-in-law.
I was a walking bouquet of flowers for the first few hours which was not exactly what I was going for. I love how the sharp citruses and iconic yuzu work together in the top to give this perfume a very specific opening.I discovered it from a friend when I was in my early 30's, probably around 2010 which I realize is way late to the game for what I know is a 90's classic now. When you look at it, you know that the secret to success of this men's fragrance, is contained in the bottle. The opening remains the harshest, screechiest, "fingernails on the chalkboard" opening I've ever experienced, exactly how I remembered it, as the smell of long expired Realemon.
