Luckily this is solved much better here because first thing is that all the ports are at the very bottom of the camera, so it's very unlikely that water would ever enter this camera and the lid is secured and hence I can't lose it. I charged the batteries overnight and this morning I have them set up and monitoring my front and back areas.
