As I read through this book, I realised that for a long time during my walk with Jesus, I had drifted.After working in Wash, DC for a few years, you become almost conditioned to having the "game face" and never letting yourself be vulnerable. That desire not to be judged by anyone, professionally, was also accompanied by a strong work ethic. People would have a flat notion of the professional possibilities they might have, and when they suddenly saw all of the stuff they might do, and that nuance, people were so appreciative, and the positive feeling built on itself. Christine lovingly and helpfully walks you through the process of getting back to a place of healthily being able to say: I'm gonna show up in life! You might ask, how could a high school dropout from a supremely dysfunctional family, with no formal training of any kind, reach such heights?
