The career-compressing single LP edition of Elton John’s 2017 ‘best of’ Diamonds was reissued on vinyl at the end of June in a very special ‘Pyramid Edition’ after his record-breaking performance at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival. The world probably doesn’t need another Elton compilation but if you’re an EJ fan as I am, and in the context of his Glastonbury farewell concert this works surprisingly well. The track listing, personally selected by Elton reflects his historic headline Glastonbury Festival setlist and features highlights from Diamonds, the Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection. Diamonds (Pyramid Edition)’ ( available digitally here), features tracklisting personally selected by John which “reflects last night’s historic setlist”, according to a press release.
