If you have absolutely no critical skills whatsoever then this book might well be worth it, although they will teach you these skills in high school english class over and over again without you even noticing.This book is a very excellent read that keeps your attention throughout its pages, it covers a vast amount of information on developing resolute thinking skills, and furthering ones fencing skills when having discourse. In fact, it is very essential to teach learners at undergraduate level CTS along with other language skills such as Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. A little bit disappointed with product as it was in a worse shape than described by seller, so I would have paid a little less, but I will try and get new edition of this one. It's so simple to understand as the author breaks down the language of critical thinking and puts it in a way that makes sense! All in all, this book is an excellent source to deepen your understanding, reinforce your learning, and develop the skill to read between lines; not to forget effective note-making.

I'm planning to undertake a dissertation - this book was recommended as background material for better analysis of what is required for the project work.

It is an ongoing critical reference book I will come back to time and time again to pick on key points which I want to refine a bit more in my writing skills. Critical Thinking Skills has taken the seemingly baffling art of analysis and broken it down into easy to understand blocks, with clear explanations, good examples, and plenty of activities to develop understanding at each stage. Note: I try to face my challenges head on, and so needless to say the book is aiding me in many areas. Since there is little emphasis on how to think at School and Intermediate level, undergraduate learners lack CT abilities. The book cover has no visible wear, and the dust jacket (if applicable) is included for hard covers.
