About this deal

It was easy to use, with a slide-out water tray with removable lid which could be fully emptied and removable air filter covers. Plus, as air is taken in and pushed back out via outlets on the side, it can sit flush against the wall to save on space. The reason I ask is that chances are your fan isn't working very well, and sorting that out is likely to have the biggest effect before starting to think about dehumidifiers. If you’d prefer a static colour, just wait for your favourite one to appear and press the light switch again to hold that colour. This model - designed by German manufacturer Blaupunkt - was the second most effective at extracting water, collecting equivalent to 105ml over 24 hours.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. That makes it a great option if you value peace and quiet, and a good option for the bedroom – especially a kid's bedroom where its green light can double up as a handy night light. In our tests we found these cheaper dehumidifiers still did a great job of sucking up excess moisture caused by cooking in the kitchen, reducing condensation on windows, and making for a less humid climate in a small space. I used it mostly in the kitchen to try to eliminate build up of condensation when I was cooking, and it worked really well at removing some of the excess moisture.

That showed in the amount of water it collected, which was the lowest we found at just 63ml per 24 hours. The water tray seemed well-made but the main body seemed cheap and flimsy, with the edges of the casing failing to line up properly.

Lots of dehumidifiers look ugly but this Vazzidea one has a stylish round black body and adjustable LED colour-change lights, which shine through the water tray.

This product used in conjunction with an 8" fan via an extension cable from the garage solves the problem. It was slightly louder than most of the other products tested but made a deep whirring sound, which was less annoying than the whining buzz of some of the other models. Pay close attention to the pint capacity, as it indicates how much moisture the device can extract within a 24-hour period.

Litre Mini Dehumidifier can hold a maximum on 300ml per day, and is ideal for smaller spaces such as small bedrooms, kitchens or closets and cupboards. It does collect water in the air but i feel due to it being so small it wasnt effective for the room i used it in. However, the power outlet on the model we tested was poorly made and we had to remove a piece of loose plastic from it. Ease of use: Operation is simple with just one on/off button and two LED lights that will let you know that it’s in operation and alert you when the water tank is full.My toilet cistern is always dripping water from the condensation that forms on the cistern especially on the bottom. We don't as a general policy investigate the solvency of companies mentioned (how likely they are to go bust), but there is a risk any company can struggle and it's rarely made public until it's too late (see the Section 75 guide for protection tips). Ease of use: Like all of the low cost dehumidifiers on our list, functionality is basic, but that does make operation hassle-free. None of the models we tried were very effective in our real-life domestic testing environment but the best one was nearly twice as good at extracting water as the worst. Consider the area you wish to dehumidify and select a mini dehumidifier with an appropriate coverage area and moisture removal capability.
