The jokes and fun work on all levels, although I find the parent's willingness to join in all the time exhausting. Summary; Bluey: The Beach is the adventure a little blue heeler pup named Bluey takes while her family is on 'holiday'. Once they get to the sand they commence the activities that most Australian families do upon arrival at the beach: delight in the texture of the sand, apply sun cream and zinc, set up the sunshade, play jump the waves, soak up the sunshine, make sandcastles and bury your siblings legs in the sand in a mermaid tail. The storyline contains a lot of bravery and a really great show of manners with Bluey being polite, even to the sea creatures in her way. It's a wonderful reminder to adults of the magic of childhood, and a great way to introduce kids to the joys of reading.

Bluey politely asks the cheeky pelican to move, but he stubbornly refuses, making her think she’ll have to turn around.
