About this deal
While there are certain aspects of the Pacer that are designed for non-guitar use, it does enough for both the guitar player and the DAW user to have value in both contexts. However, none of these offer the dedicated DAW control and integration that are, for me, the Pacer's main strength. I was involved in the development of this controller and it has some pretty neat features (DAW integration, RGB LEDs, expansion inputs, etc).
Place this MIDI controller at your feet and gain remote control over the most essential functions of your DAW, using nothing but your feet, so you can keep your hands free for your trusty guitar. You can program the switches to send MIDI messages, control one of PACER’s 4 relays or to load presets. However, some of Pacer’s functions don’t have a channel setting (Relays and MMC messages for example). If you need the Stomp Switches to operate as momentary switches (on/max value when pressed, off/min value when released), these same instructions also apply to Preset D3 (Keyboard Tool Box). If you would like armed tracks to start recording when you launch a Scene, go to the ‘Record/Warp/Launch’ page in Live’s preferences and select and enable the ‘Start Recording on Scene Launch’ option, as shown in the Scene Record image on the right. Does anyone know if I will be able to connect a footswitch to the Pacer and program a midi message for the footswitch and how?
That alone would justify its purchase, but there's more — since you can program notes into the footswitches, a drone or six-step foot-driven riff from a single footswitch isn't out of the question. If you use Pacer to select patches for instruments or effects, using Program Change messages, Presets A1-A4 are a good place to get started. When you're trying to create music, keeping your hands on your instrument helps keep you in the creative zone. Don’t stop the music: PACER is the only true hands-free solution for controlling a DAW and features a complete set of dedicated track and transport controls.I am mainly looking to control quantiloop or loopy along with being able to switch on some effects like tonestack and add some additional controls to my Eventide H9 pedal for patch switching. The Pacer does have the 5-pin midi which would allow me to hook it directly to my Eventide H9 pedal for additional controls.
