About this deal

Unfortunately, it was a 3 year old VERY used hand-me down and it recently broke (the voice/lights don't work).

Interactive play - 14 manipulative features include piano keys, a phone, peek-a-boo door, book page, bead spinner, high-five paw, toy gears and two dangling toys. The setting for the speed are on the wheels closest to baby which means sometimes they get bumped or stepped on during use. The activity centre is great my friend had one and I borrowed hers but my daughter loves it so much I bought her one.

Group Black's collective includes Essence Opens a new window, The Shade Room Opens a new window and Naturally Curly Opens a new window. The clip on our VTech didn't work properly so the plate kept falling off (Nanny's one doesn't behave this way); on the Leapfrog walker the plate clips off and on from the sides (very easy to do).

It makes for a very interesting review, mainly because Lara and her cousins have been using a version of the VTech walker at their grandparent's house ever since their first days so it is a product they recognise and have grown up with - a challenge for any new product to compete with. Interactive features encourage fine motor skills and include five piano keys, a phone, bead spinner, two dangling toys and more. But a baby laying under it might get fed up as it does not play long enough unless you press the buttons. She loves pressing the buttons and the wheels have 2 settings so she is starting to taking steps with it and the best thing is I dont need to stand behind her. To make it more versatile, it would be better if it transformed into a ride-on toy so that it was useful for a longer period of time.I find the music and noises less annoying on the Leapfrog activities - I think the full alphabet song is great but I wish that the a,b,c,d light-up keys were more like the VTech in that they would benefit from having an image association such as ' b for ball'. It is quite stable and sturdy for little ones to push without trouble, but the keyboard on it doesn't respond to their exploration.

ca base "Our Suggested Age" ranges on these manufacturer recommendations, as well as considering which ages will enjoy the product. Three modes play melodies and sound effects; introduce colors, shapes, letters and numbers or encourage physical movement. Color-changing dome - Watch the dome light up in six different colors to enhance the music and learning. All Leapfrog toys are educator-approved, child-tested, follow national standards and feature British spellings, phonics and pronunciations. It's annoying that the toy stopped making noises because i feel like a toy should be able to last longer then one child. I noticed that Lara enjoyed the activities on the VTech walker more than the Leapfrog and would spend more time playing with them. It moved a little too fast that if he weren't already supporting himself enough I wouldn't trust it not to shoot out from under him. I own several different Leapfrog products as well as several different push-toys and would recommend this one for being useful and educational.

As long as the baby laughs and smiles, which he does then I have to say that this toy is the best for babies who are just learning to get their way around a little bit! While many children may enjoy products at different stages of their development, this rating is our suggestion for an age range which will best enjoy the product. Our content is doctor approved and evidence based, and our community is moderated, lively, and welcoming. On our living room carpet (which has a very shallow pile) we found the VTech walker to slip rather than roll.
