They won't be wasted though as those which arn't saved for next year's emergency will be torn up and put on the compost heap. So now you have four great ideas for recycling your toilet paper rolls in the garden to keep your environment sustainable.

The only issue is that you’ll then need to wait for the post to arrive, so the method won’t work if you need them by the next morning. I’ve had a few people say they use these for peas and beans like you and simply fill with compost and sit in a tray. Just take toilet roll and wrap up your little one until their body is covered from head to toe (just be sure to leave out their hands, mouth, feet and eyes!

Other similar cardboard tubes – like kitchen roll tubes – can be composted too but avoid any that have come into contact with forbidden food stuffs (like fats) or excessive chemicals (including detergents or perfumes). With Father’s Day fast approaching, it’s time to sit the kids down and help them turn their creativity into some beautiful-yet-practical gifts for dad. Take a toilet roll tube (kitchen roll tubes can be cut into two) and squash it flat creating creased edges.
