Jack-Jack Attack is an all-new animated short that recounts Kari the babysitter's adventures tending to Jack-Jack while the parental units were away on adventure. But it is the blending of this normality of hidden talent, crushed aspirations and the longing to relive the past, with the fantastic alternate reality of actually unleashing those powers and dreams that make The Incredibles really live up to its name. Another nice gimmick is the NSA Top Secret Files which gives you a Top Trump Card style rundown on twenty-one Supers with added soundbites and hero team affiliations. If you took all of the scenes of the family in suburbia and made a film simply of those, the result would be a great stand alone addition to any comedy library.

It's the action that earned the rating, but it's the fact that the characters are all humans that probably caused the MPAA to make The Incredibles a PG film. It's pacy, funny, very human (even if it is about superheroes), witty and extremely entertaining - and the quality of the animation is a joy in itself. Bird gives us a family of "supers," a brood of five with special powers desperately trying to fit in with the 9-to-5 suburban lifestyle.

It is fun to watch the footage, but when a character, from the film, makes an appearance at the end of the short, it sort of gives away the real origin of this footage. What sets The Incredibles apart and makes it, well, incredible, is its sweetly sugar-coated criticism of America's suburbs today. The lengthiest is the original alternate opening which is pretty cool but would've deviated too much from the thrust of the story as we know it.
