About this deal

Paradise or Paloma, Scarlett and Tella’s mother, has been a very mysterious character in so far without even being present in the story much. Most of all, much of this story centers around unraveling the emotions and feelings of others and embracing one’s own true heart. There are some people on Goodreads who will try to make you feel like a lesser human being for rating books you didn't finish, but our time on this green earth is finite, and why should you spent it slogging through something you didn't enjoy just to be "worthy" of sharing your opinion?

The chapters are divided in between Scarlett and Tella’s perspectives and the story wouldn’t have worked out if it was any other way. Vital loose threads are tied up but little glimmers of future intrigue are dotted throughout too, leaving such glorious future potential for more.I cried for the horrors Scarlett's chapters put me through, and for the wonders that I could have read instead. I couldn’t stand Tella in Caraval, but Legendary and Finale completely changed my feelings toward her, and I came to favor her over Scarlett.

It makes everything brighter, it makes people who have it stronger, it breaks rules that aren't supposed to exist, it's infinitely valuable. I'll admit that this could be because I'm an adult, and this is YA fiction, but I also think other readers will pick up on this and have a hard time processing that this is the same adventurous heroine we came to love in the first two books. There are revelations that I’d never have seen coming and one moment – that I so want to scream about but won’t, due to spoilers – that is definitely a particular highlight for my dark romance loving heart.

After me going insane on the timeline with my love for these books, hating the last installment wasn't really on my bingo card, but it is what it is, I guess. I know it sounds like I didn't like any portion of this book, but I truly did love the concept and still remain a huge fan of the series/author. one thing i am in disbelief that they held off mentioning previously was the fact that julian wears glasses? Finale was the conclusion this series needed, it was gripping, tense and magical, everything you expect from the writings on Stephanie Garber. Most people give up at the part of the story where things are the worst, when the situation feels hopeless, but that is where hope is needed the most.

To my girl giuls: I can't find the words to thank you for reading this entire trilogy with me, I had the time of my life, I loved sharing theories with you and being mutually clowned and confused. I liked the ending, but not how it was executed, it seems like tradition that Stephanie Garber's endings always feel super rushed, we spent 400 pages trying to discover a way to defeat The Fallen Star, so that in the last 20 the way be discovered and Tella kills him in the simplest way possible.

SCARLETT's story was pretty much wrapped up before Finale and even though we find out interesting facts about her, her chapters bored me to death! The magic involved is glorious, the past holds infinite potential and an incredible level of planning must have gone into crafting such a mesmerising and enthralling place. The magic is so beautiful and endless, that you are taken away into a land of possibilities and that is what allows the reader to lose themselves in the story. This one was also a little painful and how the characters went through so much to save their world but the romance part in this was impeccable.
