Bought this as a gift to myself, this book is so easy to use for everyday cooks who want to make something a bit special for a Saturday night tea , I so can’t recommend this enough as a beginner guide chicken tikka masala has now become a favourite in my house , as shocked at how much a takeaway has now become .

However, here we are and I can definitely say this one was worth the wait it was amazing really hit the spot and if you’re craving a takeaway then maybe give this a try. What I thought: When you get home after a long day at work, it is so tempting to dial in something for dinner. This recipe makes 4 portions and because there is just 2 of us i still have 2 portions left in the fridge patiently waiting for my second meal which will be spaghetti and meatballs – now don’t you just love the fact you have taken 10 minutes out to create meals for 2 days in the week!

During the cooler months i use a lot of kale either with “fakeaways” or with Sunday Dinner and i always get asked how i cook mine, so as we are heading back into the cooler months here is my “how to” video. You can make this recipe using duck breast or leg cooked in a pan, grill pan, or an electric grill or in the oven – once cooked shred it with 2 forks and follow the below recipe. Well done Mr Bavin and after reading the ‘Introduction’ and then the ‘Thank you’ at the end of the book - it makes it a more personable and relatable book for home life cooking. Chris’ version is really quick to make, it’s a case of using flavourful curry paste and turmeric to give the rice a rich spiciness and beautiful colour, with a healthy dose of green peppers, courgette and caramelized onions alongside.I’ve never attempted to cook biryani at home, I didn’t think I’d have the expertise or time to make one.
