Beginning with “how to be one thing while pretending to be another,” learning how to “spot, assess and develop an agent…debrief agents, identify counterintelligence threats…vet information…spot surveillance…protect sources and conduct dead-drops.Honest but still tasteful discussion of what it's like to be a Western woman in the Middle East, including stories of the author's encounters with obscene and disgusting men. So as a reader you kind of look past the obvious villains and sometimes clunky dialogue and instead enjoy the way that information from intelligence "traffic" is pieced together, that surveillance is undertaken and operations are structured. He only wants to use people who are open to him, who listen to and obey his voice, and who follow his leading no matter the cost--and it's so true. This is the first Stella Remington novel that I have not been really gripped by, most of the others have been tense and exciting but I fear this was written too quickly without a full raft of ideas, although I would not recommend this I would most of the others.
Working commercially with artists and building up portfolios for clients cannot have failed to add to his keen eye for colour, line and form. The fact that the author is the former Director General of MI5 makes for well informed writing about the intelligence world. Are we seeing manufacturers labels on swing tags at the hem or sew on labels on the outer left cuff of the suit jackets.I am working my way through the whole series and I think that this one is not up to the standard of the earlier books. Breaking Cover" by Michele Rigby Assad is the author's story of becoming a CIA agent and her life in and after being in the CIA. I would rate the book a 3/5, and would only recommend it if you have a strong interest in espionage type books. Part of the drama of the previous novels - which are written by a former Director General of MI-5 (and the first woman to hold that title) - comes from the tension that exists among the various security services in the UK and their "cousins" in the CIA. It's probably the weakest in the series, due to a plot device in the first chapter on which the rest of the story hinges.Every print is individually signed and numbered by Kay herself before hand embellishing and applying a protective varnish coating.

It was interesting how God used her skills she learned from the CIA in her civilian life after she left the department. They’re an integral part of any reader’s experience, and today, I want to celebrate the art that stuck with me this year. As a formerly aspirational biochemist and a current PowerPoint power user, this duality was enough to get me to pick the book up to learn more.
