Each year, 80-100 families receive carefully chosen toys for their children, creating magical moments during the festive season. We appreciate the overwhelming response from our community, however, due to limited warehouse space, Operation Blue Santa is at capacity for volunteers this holiday season. The Austin Police Department’s Operation Blue Santa Program started back in 1972 when a couple of APD patrol officers discovered that some families in their district did not have gifts or food for their children at Christmas.
