About this deal

I purchased for my daughter who then gave it to her cousin and now it's back again for a step sister. I know the battery slot is still there because it was made in the original mould, but like …It’s a bit odd.

I have 4 daughters, who are true Barbie fans, so naturally as soon as this house came out it was added to the top of their Christmas list. Without these technologies, things like personalized recommendations, your account preferences, or localisation may not work correctly. The majority of the items here came from a random doll lot I purchased at the flea market, which also came with the two chairs and the end table. My version came with two ‘Kohl’ dolls, which confuses the heck out of me, because Kohl is a brand on Stardoll, and the Stardoll dolls didn’t release until, what, 2009?

My daughter and her friend kept leaning on the second floor with their hands and the support structure does NOT appear to be strong enough to handle much weight---it kept on creaking like the plastic was going to snap! Beyond practical purposes like shielding playsets from dust, I don't keep any packaging--I simply recycle it (in the past, when I've tried to save it needlessly, it took up a silly amount of space and for no purpose). In the comments section for the video I linked at the start, one commenter says that she had this house, but her brother broke it after doing a poo on it accidentally. The trays, nightstand storage thing, and the comb were all stuffed inside the oven and the dishwasher of my Talking Townhouse.

When Barbie puts her access card in the front door slot, the house welcomes Barbie home, and the front porch light comes on. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. I noticed all the little details in my house and came to the conclusion that it must need batteries and found the panel that would have the batteries but couldn’t get it open! Why go through the effort of bagging the house when it already has a handy cardboard shroud to keep it from getting dusty? It has been better than I expected for the following reasons: (1) the sound mechanism really works, (2) my 7 year old daughter has become quite a whiz with a screw driver and learning to put in and change batteries from playing with this and her Barbie house, (3), she likes putting on the stickers that I find so tedious to stick onto the thing as decorations, and (4) it has fewer itsy bitsy accessories and parts than some other Barbie toys we've purchased - so it's easier to keep track of them.Without these technologies, things like personalised recommendations, your account preferences, or localisation may not work correctly. I was told when I purchased this house that it was still sealed, and had never been used by the seller's daughter. However, after one afternoon of play I could tell the second floor of this house might eventually break.
