Being a 27-inch monitor, the first thing that will stand out about the 27GN950 is that it isn’t very big. A lower weight is also an advantage for home appliances, as it makes transportation easier, and for many other types of products. The 27GP850 also has an optional black frame insertion feature to reduce the appearance of persistence blur, but it's a bit limited and only works over a narrow refresh rate range. You'll have to adjust image settings to suite but coming from years of using a TN panel I can definitely tell the difference. Ignoring all the marketing BS, response times are great for both monitors and I didn't notice any difference.Greater Clarity, More Realistic 27GN850 supports HDR10, enabling realistic visual immersion with rich colors and contrast. My ageing eyes and reactions mean I can't really tell the difference plus it means I'm using slightly less power and get to save the planet 24 frames at a time :p. Blacks appear gray when viewed in the dark, and there's no local dimming feature to help improve it. Although the IPS technology is showing its age with the low contrast ratio, the 4K 160 Hz panel means this monitor should last you quite a while, as it will take a few more years before GPUs are able to saturate its refresh rate. For older games, this won’t be as much of an issue, but today’s AAA titles, especially those with ray tracing, will be heavy to push.
The Vesa recess doesn't look 100% standard though so I could see some people having issues without the use of standoffs. millioin colors, which are typical for 8-bit display panels, and not the standard 262200 colors, instead.
