About this deal

They all look the same when stopped down to f/8, but you still can't put filters on the front of the 14-24mm. The good news is that modern lenses like this have little problem with stray light, unlike the awful old 15mm f/3. When you move the focus ring and reach the focus limit, the ring continues rotation with a little more resistance, instead of an abrupt stop. The Z7 II, Z6 II, Z7, Z6, and Z5 correct for any or all of distortion, diffraction and falloff (vignette control), any of which may be turned ON or OFF.

Like I said near the start, I didn’t take loads of test images of brick walls etc with these lenses. Detailed specifications for the lens, along with MTF charts and other useful data can be found on the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2. Whether you want hairpieces, clip-in extensions, or a long term Remy hair extension solution, we’re sure to have the perfect product for you. The lens is fully sealed against dust and moisture, with seals not only at the base, but also at its control rings, buttons and focus mode switch, as well as at joins between components. Everyone counterfeits laser holograms, but few people have dot-matix printers floating around to fake these. The L-FN ("Lens Function") button defaults to an AF Lock, and you can reprogram it to do other things in your camera at MENU > CUSTOM SETTING MENU (pencil icon) > f Controls > Custom Controls > Lens Fn button. Bokeh, the feel, character or quality of out-of-focus areas as opposed to how far out of focus they are, is iffy, but so what: there is rarely anything out of focus with a lens this wide. VR S, Nikonians can now zoom from a 14mm wide-angle to a 200mm telephoto with no gaps in coverage and with a bright F2.

The only camera on which AF doesn't work for my fixed 14mm is my D40, but focusing is trivial with lenses this wide and the D40 does have an electronic focus assist with the fixed 14mm lens. The Lee Filters SW150 Mark II Adaptor Nikon 14-24mm Lens allows you to attach the Lee Filters SW150 Filter Holder to the Nikon 14-24mm lens. The "S" designation has no other purpose than subliminal seduction; Nikon and electronics and automobile and every kind of marketer have been using letters like "S" and "X" in model numbers since the 1940s for this same reason.

And as for longitudinal chromatic aberration (LoCA), which causes color fringing in the foreground and background and can be hard to correct post-capture, this lens handles it beautifully.
