About this deal

I haven’t enjoyed autobiographies or memoirs that much generally but I liked everything about this Soft Boy personal story. Such is his jolly tone that it’s easy to dance across his anecdotes avoiding emotional pot holes, like the extreme enduring fear sparked from watching Edward Scissorhands as a “soft lad” growing up, or his father’s death or, as he puts it, describing an early appointment with a therapist.

I wasn't a fan before reading, that's not to say I didn't like Nick but I hadn't listened to or seen any of his Radio or TV work and I knew very little about him. Despite listening to him on the radio all the time and feeling like I knew him, I really didn’t know him as much as I thought I did.So, instead, he concentrated on work, and mates, and cocktails with flashing straws and light-up fish, and then, one Thursday morning in 2018, he finished his final breakfast show, went out to celebrate, and by Friday he was in love. I’ve always been such a big fan of Grimmy from listening to him every day on Radio 1 so when he announced he was leaving I was so gutted! About the Author: Radio and TV broadcaster, Nick Grimshaw, began his career on T4 and went on to join BBC Radio 1, working his way up to present the coveted breakfast show in 2012.

i loved this book, and the only reason it’s not a fiver is the length, it could have been longer and dived even deeper in some themes. These are Grimmy's brilliant, nostalgic coming-of-age tales, covering life's pivotal moments, the loves, the losses, and the fun had with the family and friends that made him. Trafodwyd ei fagwraeth yn Oldham, ei ddewis i symud i Lundain, ei waith ar sioe frecwast Radio 1, dod allan, ADHD, partio a llawer mwy. Down from Oldham for a football match with his dad one day, little Nick persuaded him to detour so he could look through the windows of the Radio 1 offices, because when he grew up that was where he wanted to present the breakfast show. It was with me in the morning before school, in the car (until my parents grew into Radio 2), and on Sunday afternoons when I was doing my homework when Fearne Cotton and Reggi Yates presented the chart show. I had bookmarked this footage with the tag "you cry and your tears are blood" and wow, I didn't even really know the additional layers I could be moved by this story of two old friends who achieved everything they set out to do.

These are Grimmy's stories of things gone right and wrong across his life and career so far, with all the highs and lows and everything in-between. Twice”), Annie Mac (the co-host on his first radio show) said, “something like, ‘You never know who he’s going to bring if he meets you for lunch. This may result in small marks to the dustjacket and title page, please also bear in mind that each signature will be a little different from the one we show here. I loved Nick on Radio 1 from the very first Switch sessions right until he left, so I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook. Featuring a vibrant rainbow design, and our super-sized Q logo, you won't find a more stylish way to make a statement.

Listened as an audiobook and it was great hearing it told by Grimmy himself, took me right back to morning drives to school listening to his Radio 1 breakfast show, always made me laugh and this book did exactly that, but also had some really genuine moments too. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously. Loved the insight to his younger years - and loved to hear about his parents, especially at the parties!
