About this deal

Rich with detail and new insights, the authors skillfully show that the Maya were on a par with other great civilizations such as the Greeks, Egyptians, and Chinese. The codex is fragmented, consisting of eleven pages out of what is presumed to be a twenty-page book and five single pages.

But I can’t tell you how the cities interacted with each other, apart from the fairly regular warfare. Desk and exam copies of certain titles are available to lecturers who wish to consider books as course texts. Coe's written works; he is widely acknowledged as one of the foremost experts in the world on the Maya. This edition incorporates the most recent archaeological and epigraphic findings, which continue to proceed at a fast pace, along with full-color illustrations.

Tradition is not concerned with documented or scientific facts, but rather with shared experiences that are lost in time. Artistic depictions of the travails of hungry ghosts are found throughout the Buddhist world, and some of the best examples are reproduced and richly described here. She is an anthropological archaeologist interested in issues of identity and other forms of symbolic representation in the archaeological record. It also has advantages over base-10 Arabic numerals in that the symbolism is binary - a dot and a dash. The codex is written on a long sheet of paper that is 'screen-folded' to make a book of 39 leaves, written on both sides.
