About this deal

She's torn between wanting to run to her mother for comfort and acting cool in front of her peers, and I just want to hug her and tell her that everything's going to be okay.

Charming and enigmatic, Zozie provides the brightness that Yanne’s life needs–as her vivacity and bold lollipop shoes dazzle rebellious and impressionable preadolescent Anouk. She has also written a DR WHO novella for the BBC, has scripted guest episodes for the game ZOMBIES, RUN!It’s a good series to check out if you’re looking for something not too heavy on the romance, has fantastical elements but at its core is about love, family and destiny.

While I liked seeing how human relations develop, I found it more interesting to watch from Rosette’s perspective. She lives in Yorkshire, plays bass and flute in a band first formed when she was sixteen, and works in a shed in her garden.Nov 16, 845pm ~~ The second of four books in the author's Chocolat series, this one caught me off guard at first. The occult undertones that simmered throughout Chocolat are more of a prominent feature in The Lollipop Shoes, and we witness both Anouk and Rosette’s supernatural powers developing. While Yann negotiated with manufacturers and distribution centres, Majorie designed their collections.

Chocolat was a hard act to follow but Harris has managed it in style' -- DAILY EXPRESS'A delicious urban fairytale, where killer shoes and Aztec myths battle it out with true love and the seductive power of chocolate' -- DAILY MAIL'A cracking and spellbinding story' -- ***** Reader review'Loved this book so much! He has a very simple, enthusiastic personality - "cheery, determined and impervious to any argument", but he is also patronizing and slightly mysoginistc. Joanne Harris's Whitbread-shortlisted Chocolat was made into an Oscar-nominated film starring Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp.

But beneath their new friend's benevolent facade lies a ruthless treachery--for devious, seductive Zozie has plans that will shake their world to pieces. year old Rosette comes onto the scene very early in this book - but the question is who is her father? This is what makes me think that I need to go back and read the first novel--the movie script had completely altered this storyline. People who are fascinated with the art of chocolate-making will love the details that Joanne shares with us and the book is about good food as much as it is about anything else.
