About this deal

Check the motor brushes: Over time, the motor brushes in your Garden Vac can wear down, leading to a loss of power or a complete failure to turn on. Hi l have a garden vac 2700 flymo and the power won’t come on chsnged fuse and line is in good shape all power in house checked any ideas? Update (Nov 2022) - still going but Bag Frame has needed replacement and the bag itself is a poor fit on the frame and regularly became unhooked. The new bag has become damaged with the effort of fitting it, the slots that are meant to clip onto the clips inside the channel become stretched and loose. The holding bag has a collection capacity of 40 litres and attaches underneath the GardenVac, but it needs some dexterity to clip it on - if it’s not done correctly the vac won’t work. When vaccing, the air drawn in has to come out somewhere and this is through the bottom of the sack which hangs immediately below the motor, thus blowing air back out on to the surface you're trying to clean and scattering the very stuff you want to suck up.It also shreds the leaves, but this is of dubious benefit because it just means that the device is even heavier when full, and if you drop any it makes an even worse mess. The mulching method seems less prone to jams than a Robert days item I had previously, which had to constantly be opened to clear. The nozzle has a wide opening and I have had no problem with any gravel being picked up from the drive, not that that would be a problem as there is no visible grille or inlet to the motor inside the machine so no damage would ensue.

We bought the Flymo Garden Vac 2700 because it was the closest we could find to our previous Flymo leaf vac which finally gave up the ghost after many years great service. The purpose of my purchase wasn’t to ‘blow’ but to suck up the dropped dropped petals from my Wysteria.

A powerful corded electric blower vac that swaps easily between functions and has a large collection bag. It is a good looking machine that is totally useless at picking up, the blower is good but not outstanding. It is fairly heavy to use so the optional extra of a Flymo wheel that clips on the end might be useful to take some of the strain. This was bought as a replacement for a 750w Flymo Garden Vac Plus which had finally given up the ghost after what must be 40 years or so service. This machine, like the old machine, has three settings operated by a simple lever – blow, suck and then blow and suck combined, the last of which seems a bit of a contradiction – blowing and sucking at the same time? I can see this unit becoming a permanent resident in my garage or (most probably) featuring in a car boot sale.

Indeed, the original was advertised as being able to pick up drink cans after parties, and, to be fair, I did try it and it could, so no doubt this later model can manage the same trick – if you just happen to have a problem with both fallen leaves and cans.

Bosch Home and Garden Electric Leaf Blower and Vacuum UniversalGardenTidy 3000 (3000 W, collection bag 50 l,variable speed, for blowing, vacuuming shredding leaves, Weight: 4. Based on my experience with my previous bag, if you don't do this properly air is expelled when you are vacuuming so is having the opposite effect to what you want. In operation the vac is a big improvement on the original model with more powerful suction and blowing.
