I would not use acrylic paint without fabric medium on anything that you want to gift, keep, wear repeatedly or wash repeatedly. have plenty left over by the way Took me 3 coats and im pretty pleased with the results…but haha im noticing that everytime i touch the material it marks…i brush over it with my hand and it seems to go but thats going to drive me nuts if they mark everytime someone sits on them.That way you know if it’ll hold up to it or not, before you end up mixing all of your paint with the water/vinegar/glycerin mixture. Textile medium is a liquid that you mix with acrylic paint that allows the paint to be thinner, more soft and flexible and permanent on fabrics.
