About this deal

Originally crafted in 1927 to honor the beloved of its creator, Coty L'Aimant Parfum de Toilette Spray is a feminine and elegant aroma, composed of petal-soft floral aromas, such as Rose, Orchid and Golden Jasmin, and finished with notes of Sandalwood and Vanilla. Ends on a blended floral, sandalwoody finish; cola-like, a sprinkle of vanilla bean, and slightly earthy. Toiletry Express uses high quality packaging to ensure that your goods reach you in perfect condition.

It's also a scent that is instantly at home in the beauty salon as it would be in the interior of a woman's bedroom. I have Chanel no 5, and yes it is a bit similar at first application, but it has it's own distinctive charm (one of which being much more affordable!

This is instead a more fruity floral with a sweet freshness that totally goes with youthful skin and younger fresh faces. And of course, it reminds me of how my mother used to smell wearing the dusting powder, which brings back a lot of good memories.

I can smell the rose and the ylang-ylang, the hint of sandalwood, and maybe some of the other notes. L’Aimant, like my darling Emeraude, is currently in production, but as a mere wraith of its former self. liitle bit chanel no 5 effect and hints of l'heure bleue but after 15 minutes smells like powdery clean musk(like jovan white musk). The soapy character in L'Aimant is additionally stronger, going toe-to-toe with the musk, and hints of something spicy.

I do think most people would get an "old lady" or dated impression from this but if you appreciate vintage scents you'll probably enjoy this. It smells like really lovely old school rose soap, and lathers up all creamy and full of soapy suds, in a bathroom with a pale pink shell sink, gold taps and fluffy pink bath mats. Anyways I digress, I guess we will never know for sure, that's the perfume business shrouded in secrecy and rumors and I think it all adds a bit of fun to it if we don't take it too seriously :) One thing that is for sure is that L'aimant and No 5 are extremely similar. She will be a teenager soon enough and I hope L'Aimant keeps all of my daughters snuggling me for as long as possible, especially the 11-year-old baby of the house who has always been an aloof tomboy. I've read that women on a budget in the late 20s and 30s would quietly ask at the perfume counters for the "No.

I don't actually think she smells like Chanel No 5 in detail, but there is a definate connection in TYPE.Given its history and pedigree I really want to love this one, but I can't make a decision about it. Right at the first hit, I got a whiff of the signature Coty powder puff, like I had experienced with L'Origan years ago. Make suggestions as to what scents I should try out next at the thread 'what made for women fragrances can or should a man wear?
