About this deal

Despite the lack of cover and any fancy extras, I feel the Black + Decker 3 Tier Heated Airer offers good value for money. To address comments about its sturdiness, yes it may wobble slightly, and I mean slightly, but it is very light weight and I much prefer that than having a solid heavy metal thing. If you’re looking for a pocket-friendly and quick way to dry your clothes, a heated clothes airer is worth it. The airer can hold exactly the same amount of washing (15kg) as bigger models but within a smaller footprint, and it’s easier on the wallet.

Our probes detected some fluctuation in temperature, but it dried bedding in two and a half hours and clothes in three hours 13 minutes. I’ve set this up in my bathroom and use it for towels and to dry any excess laundry which can’t fit on my main dryer - usually underwear. Drying pods are the hare to the heated airer's tortoise They blow hot air into a sealed pod, drying cotton clothes in about 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes. Clothes took over two and a half minutes to dry and testers found the airer's temperature was consistent throughout use.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. If you live in a small flat, you may find it far less practical than the Lakeland or Black + Decker dryers, since it’s wide and low and takes up an unnecessary amount of space when folded out. Whether it senses loads of clothes that are wet and gets hotter, or whether it's just the product performance itself.

Megan has an MA in Magazine Journalism and has previously written for Stylist, Glamour, TimeOut, SquareMeal, and YOU magazine. With running costs of just 9pence per hour it is proven to be a more cost-effective solution than using a tumble dryer. The products or services listed have been selected independently by journalists after hands-on testing or sourcing expert opinions. Testers found the airer easy to use overall and its instructions detailed, although it did collapse down when they tried moving it, meaning it’s best left in one place if you’ve got washing on it. I also tried putting a bedsheet over one of the slower heated airers to see if that sped things up, as people on social media talk a lot about doing this.DURABLE AND STURDY: Crafted with high-quality materials and built to exacting BLACK + DECKER standards, this electric airer is built to withstand daily use and will serve you for years to come.
