It manages to stearvthe raedr through the story well, with plenty of secrets and twists along the way. I loved the illustrations and the characters, and I thought the story was well-paced for kid and adult readers alike. Amelia lives in the Fang Mansion with her father, Count Drake the Third, her mother, Countess Frivoleeta, her pet pumpkin, Squashy, and the rest of her household. There are lots of exciting things coming up in October for the much-anticipated Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball. The story is kind of reminiscent of Hotel Transylvania, and I think the influences are definitely there--Amelia's dad Drake wearing a Hawaiian t-shirt, a short vampire prince with poofy hair, the kind of vampires who's name is Vladimir. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site.

All this considered I couldn't give Amelia Fang and the Barbaric Ball a very high rating, which makes me incredibly sad since this book had such potential. A book set in Nocturnia where everything sparkly, fluffy and cute is considered terrifying seemed like a great break from the literature I would normally read. It’s a fantastic independent book seller that will actually be responsive and select appropriate books for you.
