The one used here for the Earth Dragon's upper jaw has a much different form factor than previous ones. I was very happy to be given this task of making a powerful Water dragon that would depict the qualities of Nya as a character. This is an aquatic dragon, and its body structure is a little different from the Fire Dragon as a result. The Water Dragon’s body is elongated and more crocodilian, with stumpier legs that keep its belly close to the ground. Includes 5 minifigures: NRG Nya, Scuba Zane, Prince Kalmaar and 2 Maaray Guards, who are all armed with cool weapons to add an extra dimension to kids’ roleplay.
Overall the designers did a good job in keeping the mini-subs distinctive, but still obviously part of the same fleet. Strictly speaking, there is one exclusive new print and one new recolour amongst all these elements as each mould also appears in 71786 Zane's Ice Dragon Creature. My copy of the set had the instructions bent double in the box, with the sticker sheet suffering the same fate.Released in 2021 and retired in 2022, this LEGO set is perfect for collectors who love vintage and rare items. When kids triumph alongside their ninja heroes and complete their mission, they are rewarded with a collectible Generosity banner to display on the dragon toy figure. LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, BIONICLE, the FRIENDS logo, the MINIFIGURES logo, MINDSTORMS, NINJAGO, and NEXO KNIGHTS are trademarks of the LEGO group. I was once again sidelined to photographic duties and the building of the set was done by my Ninjago Dragon-obsessed son. It has a saddle for Nya to sit in, and it can be upgraded with golden elements to make it even bigger and stronger.
LEGO Ninjago designers beware - we will come to expect some sort of extra bonus build to the basic box front model in all of our sets! The tail sections have a good mix of blue shades, with more of the transparent light blue plant stems capping off the assembly. The set’s contents are pretty easy to pick out, with the Water Dragon getting central placement and the mini-sub, pedestal, and minifigures spread around the edges. I would like to see a model that conceals them more effectively without compromising mobility too much.

This is something that I hope to see explored again, in a bigger creature or vehicle, as it was with last year’s 71765 Ninja Ultra Combo Mech. I can honestly say there was no positive bias here, because I'd written the majority of this review before I discovered this information. It comes with NRG Nya, Kalmaar, two Maaray Guards, Scuba Zane, a pedestal with the Wave Amulet, Nya's water dragon form and Zane's mini submarine.
