I remember feeling much more with this author, especially in Ravished, so this was a let down for sure. But soon, blackmailers and intrigue will prove to be the farthest thing on Marcus's mind and he'll be more than ready (and Iphy more than willing) to erase the "pretend" from their arrangement. I enjoy an angst-filled read but there is a place in my heart for very nice vanilla romances like Amanda Quick's Mistress.

All in all, that wasn't a big deal because the main focus of this book was always Marcus and Iphiginia's relationship, and that was nicely written. Soon the two join forces to unmask the villain and perhaps turn their charade into something more real. Her aunt has fallen victim to a blackmailer,Iphiginia plansto pose as the mistress to the infamous Earl of Masters rumoured to have disappeared at the hands of the blackmailer.

While my read through Quick's backlist is enjoyable, it may be time to take a break for a while and get back to it later. I had a hard time believing her name was really Iphginia or whatever but I got over it once I all of a sudden became her and had the most daunting crush on Marcus. I am devastated to hear that being my mistress has not been quite as entrancing as your tour of antiquities. Im going to give her a piece of advice my mother gave me, If you don't know about sex you do not need to be having it.
