This is definitely an animated-style action figure of Madelyne, but I’m thrilled to get her nonetheless. There’s one anomalous glob of red paint on my figure’s white right hand, so I’m going to exchange mine when I have the opportunity. Despite his good heart and gentle nature, swashbuckling teleporter Nightcrawler is often demonized for his physical mutations, including his indigo fur and a prehensile tail. Cyclops comes with 5 hands, an optic blast effects piece, and an interchangeable angry head that all add tons of dynamic posing potential. The sculptor captured the look of Kurt’s costume shoulder flares perfectly and I like how the red portion of the costume is slightly raised from the black.

Yeah, there’s some bleed through on the red paint, which is a shame, but surprisingly there’s none at all on the white. This collectible 6-inch scale Marvel figure is inspired by Nightcrawler’s appearance in Marvel Studios’ X-Men ‘97 animated series. With the Marvel Legends Series, fans and collectors can start a legendary collection of comic- and entertainment-based Marvel characters. There is some excellent definition in his facial details, the bushy eyebrows look like they’re judging me a bit. Also, I could be mistaken, but I believe there are butterfly shoulder joints concealed beneath his tunic.I wouldn’t be at all surprised if that and Dark Beast were two of the remaining 3-4 characters to be revealed.

If Hasbro quit and never made anymore X-men figures, I would be OK and possibly feel like my collection was complete. One thing that’s a little weird about this release is that this is an action figure of an actual member of X-Force, being released as part of the X-Force Marvel Legends series… in his non-X-Force classic costume. I have some trivial complaints about there being no teleportation accessories included, the tail being sort of loose (and not bendy! With a 100% new pin-less body, articulated ponytail, and alternate telekinesis hands, this is very easily the best Jim Lee styled Jean Grey we’ve ever seen from Hasbro or Toybiz.

This version looked to top all previous versions, so I had to (over)pay for it when I saw it at a vendor last weekend at SDCC. The good news is that the tail does at least swivel at the base, allowing you to get it into a variety of places and not mess up the pose you want to stick Nightcrawler in. This action figure is part of the Marvel genre within the Marvel Legends series and included in Wave 1.

Despite all my paint gripes, this figure is a blast and is inching up on figure of the year territory for me as it’s a great, classic representation of one of my favorite characters with a ton of posing and play options. This officially licensed Nightcrawler figure comes with 3 accessories for dynamic poseability, including 2 alternate hands and an alternate head. Given her significant role in the current era of X-Men comics, I was mortified when the modern Madelyne Pryor figure was lost to fans forever when the Ghost Rider Haslab failed last year.The articulation is excellent, the extra heads are most welcome, the tail has just enough versatility for posing, and Kurt looks great swinging into action with his sword.
