Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

It includes a potent mix of active ingredients, including phenylephrine hydrochloride, paracetamol, and guaifenesin to loosen chest mucus, lower fever, reduce nasal congestion, and alleviate discomfort. The safety of this medicine during pregnancy and lactation has not been established but in view of a possible association of foetal abnormalities with first trimester exposure to phenylephrine, the use of the product during pregnancy should be avoided. There have been reports of blood dyscrasias including thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, nutropenia and agranulocytosis, but these were not necessarily causally related to paracetamol. Like all medicines, Lemsip Cough For Mucus Cough Catarrh Oral Solution can have side effects, but not everybody gets them. Oral Solution contains a combination of ingredients which are effective in the symptomatic relief of acute coughs and catarrh associated with influenza, colds and mild throat infections.
