About this deal

The three segments of the show make this double album sound like three very different albums and there is a raw power to many of his songs that his studio albums don't quite capture. Like all live albums, you have to be in the right mood for it, but this one is unusual in that Mayer splits the concert into three parts - acoustic, trio and full band.

If that sounds a little worthy, be ready to be hit with some brilliant rock and blues songs, showcasing his talents as a guitarist and singer - whether solo or backed by top guys like Steve Jordan (drums) and Pino Palladino (bass).

Very nice flat pressing from Optimal, soundstage is open, wide and very dynamic with no surface noice. John Mayer, like all serious artistes, is a work in progress - he wants to develop as a musician even though he occasionally finds himself on the wrong side of the press. What comes across is a man who is first and foremost a musician, confident enough to perform excellent cover versions of Jimi Hendrix songs as well as different arrangements of his own songs. He draws inspiration from a diverse range of artists including Gavin DeGraw, Eric Hutchinson, Amos Lee, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, James Morrison, Mat Kearney, Ray LaMontagne, Five For Fighting, Donavon Frankenreiter, Colbie Caillat, DISPATCH Matt Nathanson Rob Thomas Parachute Mat McHugh David Gray Ben Rector James Bay Bahamas. John Mayer's Where The Light Is includes 22 songs and features a one-of-a-kind song list - all recorded the night of December 8th, 2007 at the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles.Mayer's music blends elements of blues, rock, and pop to create a unique sound that resonates with fans worldwide.
