About this deal

En esta entrega ya no trabaja para el departamento de policía de Oslo, sino que actúa como una especie investigador privado. In this 13th instalment in the Harry Hole series, Harry is no longer in the police force - instead, he is in Los Angeles and slowly drinking himself to death due to personal tragedy and his general melancholia.

The synopsis said: “In the wake of his parents’ tragic deaths in a house fire, 14-year-old Richard Elauved has been sent to live with his aunt and uncle in the remote, insular town of Ballantyne. It has a YA feel to it, which is not a bad thing at all, but as the book is classified as ‘adult’, be aware that it feels more on the YA side. When the Mexicans come to collect, Harry sees a chance for some redemption and steps in to protect the actress, although soon enough she’s abducted. Jo Nesbo is an author who strives for originality when it comes to setting up a climax, and in Killing Moon he delivers a belter during a late summer lunar eclipse over Oslo. I really enjoyed this book, stomach churning as it occasionally was, and enjoyed getting to know Harry and the people in his world.I guess it’s easier to create a universe inside your head if that universe is more attractive than the universe you are sitting in. His appeal over twenty years was his genuine, pure desire to solve crimes for the sake of giving peace to the families of the victims and to prevent further harm from coming to those who are vulnerable. If you need some ice-cold crime fiction to go with an ice-cold January here in the Northern Hemisphere, then watch out for Arctic Circle, season two, which will arrive on Channel 4’s overseas crime streaming service, Walter Presents, from 26 January 2024.

In past interviews, Nesbo has said that it’s important that he depicts the murders of women in his fiction because it’s an honest reflection of what happens in the real world.

In addition, shortly before they disappeared, Bertine and Susanne attended a party thrown by Røed - a party where liquor and cocaine flowed freely. There are multiple paths of peril for the characters, and just when you think everything has become clear, the ground shifts. They have bought me hours of joy and intrigue, with a character who is loveable, complicated but also consumed by demons. His books The Leopard, Phantom, Police, The Son, The Thirst, Macbeth and Knife have all since topped the Sunday Times charts.
