While I did think things worked out a bit too easily for Zoey and their big miscommunication (one of my least favorite things in romance) could have been avoided I applaud the author for having Zoey learn that she was capable of standing on her own two feet.She said that Tohru's character has helped her be more positive: "I was so inspired by her character by her, joy, and outlook on life that, you know, you wanna emulate that. Its the ultimate in slow burns, but necessary because of the plot because to do otherwise would have been cringey. I liked that there was some actual hockey in the book, too, and some real interactions between players etc.
