About this deal

Later that year, Hollywood Records released a companion collection, Greatest Hits, with similar artwork (on a red background, where Classic Queen was on royal blue). The album consisted of Queen's biggest hits between 1981 and 1991, from the UK chart-topper " Under Pressure" to " The Show Must Go On". In February 2014, Greatest Hits became the first album in the UK to sell over six million copies, [16] [17] and it was claimed that one in three families in the UK owned a copy. Greatest Hits II is a compilation album by the British rock band Queen, released on 28 October 1991. In NME Barney Hoskyns said, "All of [their songs], besides 'Another One Bites the Dust', are quite repulsive, unbelievably crass insults to their respective genres and uniformly vulgar music.

Released on 28 October 1991, Greatest Hits II continued from where its predecessor left off a decade earlier, covering Queen’s international single hits from Under Pressure in 1981 to The Show Must Go On in 1991 - released just weeks before Freddie’s passing in late November. Freddie Mercury designed the crest on the album cover, using the astrological signs of the four members: two Leos (Roger Taylor and John Deacon), one Cancer (Brian May) and one Virgo (Mercury).

The singles " Body Language", " Back Chat", " Las Palabras de Amor", " Thank God It's Christmas", " Princes of the Universe" and " Scandal" were omitted for this release.

Accumulated sales ( Greatest Hits II and Classic Queen for the US and Canada combined) are in excess of 25 million worldwide. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, spending four weeks at the top and sold consistently well throughout the 1980s, becoming the fourth-biggest selling album of the decade.

Following the release of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody in 2018, it re-entered the charts worldwide. Apart from Under Pressure and Radio Ga Ga, all of the 17 singles here did not crack the American Top 40, but they’re well-known throughout the world, particularly the operatic anthems A Kind of Magic, I Want It All, I Want to Break Free, and Who Wants to Live Forever. However, retrospective reviews have rated the album higher: Ira Robbins gave Greatest Hits a B+ rating in Entertainment Weekly upon its reissue in 1992, [9] and AllMusic awarded the record four and a half stars out of five. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.

The album was later reissued in 2011, with the Japanese release adding ' I Was Born To Love You' as a bonus track.

However, the band had just changed record labels in the US, from Capitol to Hollywood Records, who were keen on a massive promotion of the band's back catalogue.Type Queen in the box under the ARTISTA column heading and Greatest Hits II in the box under the TÍTULO column heading. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Melody Maker 's Adam Sweeting stated, "I've never been the slightest bit interested in Queen's ridiculous pomposity and Freddie just makes me snigger, but I suppose songs like 'Killer Queen' are sort of catchy, while anything as preposterous as 'We Will Rock You' deserves an award if only for bad taste".
