About this deal

The result of a five-year airborne odyssey across five continents and sixty countries, this special 10th anniversary edition features an updated text and over 100 breathtaking new photographs. His work centered on people living ''outside of time'' with traditional jobs and skills that had been passed down through generations. However, even if this wealth is advantageous for the province of Alberta, oil companies, and the inhabitants, it is at the expense of the environment of us all.

Some photos exhibit problems (corners softness, chromatic aberration and vignetting) indicating that the lenses used by the photographer have been of only average quality. Each photo is accompanied by a short essay or explanation, ussualy local trivia, the history of the shot or the environmental impact of industrial activity at each specific location. There are several different editions, this was a second version published in 2007 and there was a new one published in 2009. The Need to Know, a photo book, is my exploration of the meager details that emerged from brief and cryptic conversations with my father and my curiosity about Cold War espionage and its impact upon my family at the time.

I especially like the shots of villages built in ways I haven't seen much, like on bamboo stilts or out of banco (which the book describes as a mixture of earth, straw, and rice chaff - I learned something!Yann Arthus-Bertrand was born in a renowned jewellers' family founded by Claude Arthus-Bertrand and Michel-Ange Marion. In this TED talk, Yann Arthus-Bertrand talks about his photograpy project - Earth from Above, and recently released movie on environment - Home. The increase in productivity has liberated countless talents to pursue careers in arts and sciences or just being free to enjoy their lives in other ways, instead of wasting their lives crouched in their fields. He thus discovered a new passion for photography and the beauty of landscapes when observed from above in hot air balloons.

Réhahn discusses his groundbreaking new photographic series ''Memories of Impressionism,'' his artistic journey during and after Covid, and how modernity can draw inspiration from the past. An updated edition of Earth from Above --a photographic touchstone for the environmental movement, selling more than three million copies worldwide. Global warming, deforestation, very low levels of precipitation -- scientists are wondering why the snow on Africa's highest summit which, at 5,895 meters tall, is gradually disappearing. Crystalline formations on Lake Magadi, Kenya — Surrounded by high volcanic plateaus, these alkaline waters have a high salt content. Also, one cannot fail to mention that the lake's sesquicarbonate crystals - the purest in the world -- have been exploited for over a century to produce sodium carbonate used in the glass and detergent industries. A present from Sam a long time ago (we first saw an outdoor exhibit of Arthus-Bertrand's photographs in Amsterdam and I loved them--ignore how snotty that sounds), in 2014 I made a goal of actually reading this day by day (or every few days) throughout the year, as I believe the book is meant to be enjoyed. This iconic book of photographs brings together the images from this movement, experiencing the light and dark of care and parenthood, the beauty of close-up details, love and hardship, and most importantly, the personal poetic truths of these mamas and artists.
