I didn't love the original Caster Chronicles series, or at least the two books that I tried but I was hoping that I would like this better, even though like I mentioned, I didn't have any expectations.Nor is it true that you can use lucid dreaming to interact with the dead, or with another living person in a different location. Quite simply, this doesn't read as a short story - it reads as a prologue to the book that isn't coming out for six months.

There were only three reasons that I read this: the focus was not on Lena, it was short, and I hate leaving a series unfinished. These include peer-reviewed journals, government reports, academic and medical associations, and interviews with credentialed medical experts and practitioners. If you find that lucid dreams are not helping you achieve the goals you set out to achieve, then the benefits may not be worth the potential risks.The reason that I found the last few books excruciating was the completely soppy and cringe worthy love stories. I can honestly say that Kami and Margaret have a way of writing that connects you with the characters and makes it hard for you to let them go. Indeed, the very goal of a complete account in a common language seems to me to be based on a false view of disciplinary distinctions as well as a false understanding of what we ought to wish for, our real interests. So, while I don't think anyone is going to be wowed by Dangerous Dream, it seems to be required reading for those who want to read about Ridley and Link's next adventures.

This story is one that grips you from start to finish with your heart in your throat wondering what will happen next.Especially the last chapter, told by Ridley, is really exciting and new and I wished I could have just kept reading because I was really getting into it again. When he rescues a kidnapping victim, her mere presence relieves his suffering and makes him feel something he’s never felt before. Kami has an MA in education, and she was a teacher for seventeen years before co-authoring her first novel on a dare from seven of her students.

Maybe it's just me, but if you haven't read the Beautiful Creatures/Caster Chronicles series then I wouldn't suggest reading this novella. I went with the audio book for Dangerous Dream (because I can’t imagine “reading” the series any other way) and while I really like Kevin Collins as a narrator, it’s hard to see him as Link because he really is Ethan to me, and not Link.

Even after four books, there are still new creatures and powers that the readers are learning about, and that is great. And finally Ridley makes a big mistake and loses more than she can handle, the question is what exactly did she lose and how is she going to get herself out of this mess?
