About this deal

Our unit's L/R drivers are also well-matched in amplitude and phase response, creating a stereo image that accurately places sonic objects, like footsteps and gunfire, in the soundstage. The PC version we tested has red accents, the PS4 version has blue accents, and the Xbox One version has green accents. The headband is thicker, and the boom mic is shorter, which some users may prefer as it doesn't stick out as far. Fortunately, the overemphasized mid and high-bass add extra boom and punch to your audio, so gameplay still feels intense.

It’s available in Red, Blue, and Green versions that have specific primary platforms listed…but all three will work with any device that has a 3.The setup process might not be so hot, but the Astro A10’s microphone is pretty standard for a gaming headset. A Y-splitter would have been a nice addition for PC users with separate headphone and microphone ports.

It sits further away from your mouth than the previous generation's, but still offers a decent overall performance, so your voice sounds clear, even if you're talking in a moderately noisy environment like a busy office. As mentioned, the Astro A10s keep things simple with stereo sound, meaning you won't find the kind of 7.Pretty though it may be, the Astro A10 is still covered in gold highlights and Legend of Zelda branding. However, both the piano notes and the finger snaps in the beginning have enough high frequency edge to let them retain presence against the bass, and provide some texture to the notes. Although there's a small peak between the mid to high-mid in the phase response, it isn't audible with real-life content.

The Astro A10 Gen 2 aren't designed for sports and fitness and aren't a good choice for that purpose. Unfortunately, they lack companion software and an EQ to tune their otherwise warm sound profile to your liking. Unfortunately, they also don't block out the low rumble of bus engines, and they leak audio at high volumes, which can annoy others around you. They seem very durable, and if a younger (or particularly angry) gamer uses them, they should be able to withstand the inevitable rough handling.

They have a comfortable fit suitable for long gaming sessions, and their wired design ensures a virtually latency-free gaming experience. Our warranty covers all that would be covered by the product manufacturer, however we do not cover faults caused by accident, neglect, misuse or normal wear and tear. The A50 are more comfortable, better built, and have a more accurate out-of-the-box audio reproduction. The headphones don’t move around much—there’s only a very small vertical hinge for some slight tilting adjustment—which would be a little uncomfortable if not for the soft velour earpads.I think Astro know that its target audience for this headset is the young market, though: The headset has small earpads, and anyone with a larger head will struggle far more than a child would. Since the mic sits further away from your mouth, it captures more ambient noise along with your voice.
