Lawson’s approach to Christmas is a secular one that revels in hospitality, gift-giving, celebration, and sharing food with others. Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Seasonal support – soups, salads, sauces and serve-later side dishes The main event – from traditional roast turkey to the ultimate Christmas pudding with all the timings you need for a stress-free Christmas Day. The “Main Event” full scale meal is edged in red, and even includes a staged timetable which goes from Christmas Eve through to lunch, with alternatives and recipes for the leftovers afterwards.

Oh dear: I am trying to keep this brief, but am finding it difficult as there is just so much food to celebrate at Christmas. The book at the moment doesn't mention dusting with icing sugar, and it certainly isn't obligatory but we just thought it might help. If you dust this piece of parchment with a little icing sugar it may help prevent stickage, but don't worry too much as any tears or dents will be covered by icing later. These are actually edible tree decorations and in years gone by I have made them to decorate my tree with. But I couldn't just end there: this is after all the season of glorious indulgence, so I had to give you my utterly ravishing but easy and no-cook Italian Christmas Pudding Cake and, of course, a little seasonal jollity in the form of my Chocolate Salame.

Now, we are going through the scrutinizing ruthlessly to add further clarification where it could help. Favourite Things About the Book: Cookbooks that are dedicated to Christmas are always a joy to read and cook from, even if our hot Australian Christmas doesn’t lend itself to all the recipes. The most accessible chapter is the one on homemade food gifts, because most people with even a modicum of kitchen confidence could easily make them. Cocktails, appetizers, gorgeous complete feasts, desserts, a Christmas brunch: this is glorious excess at its best, lovingly illustrated with gorgeous photographs. But, let's face it, when the pressure to feed and entertain builds up, the festive season can begin to lose its sparkle… That's where Nigella comes in.

It's always nice to receive a nice jar of vanilla sugar or a chutney wrapped up beautifully as a gift. And, of course, exciting and inspiring variations for the Main Event itself from traditional turkey, festive ginger-baked ham and special trimmings to a Swedish Christmas a la Nigella, or a vegetarian Christmas feast.

As it was for mass consumption at the library, I decided to forgo infecting my friends with consumption. Being a watcher of TV's "Nigella Feasts", I am familiar with the author's speaking voice and persona. This is particularly fab for a party, when you can cook it and slice it (easily) into generous slabs. The way she suggests cooking it is incredibly difficult — there is hardly any liquid so the pumpkin kept sticking to the pan, so I had to keep adding water through the whole process. Really though, the majority of these recipes can be made at any time of the year, not just Christmas and any recipe can be altered with lower fat ingredients if you wish.As well as offering the reader an array of inspired new recipes – from clams with chorizo to Guinness gingerbread – Nigella rounds up her no-nonsense kitchen kit must-haves in the way of equipment and magical standby ingredients. The recipes didn't thrill, but I don't read Nigella for recipes; her gorgeous writing is what grips me. With her no-nonsense approach, her inspirational ideas and empathy for the practical realities of the season - combined here with reliable easy-to-follow recipes and reassuring advice about planning and cooking ahead - Nigella Christmas is guaranteed to bring comfort and joy and make sure the season of good will stays that way. Our family doesn't really celebrate the faux before the slaughter holiday that is known as Thanksgiving. With her no-nonsense approach and inspirational ideas, combined with reassuring advice and easy-to-follow, reliable recipes, Nigella Christmas is guaranteed to bring comfort and joy, and make sure the season of good will stays that way.

Come down the travelators, exit Sainsbury's, turn right and follow the pedestrianised walkway to Crown Walk and turn right - and Coles will be right in front of you. From the wonderful German Baking by Jürgen Krauss, I bring you with great cheer his Apple Marzipan Tart and splendid Stollen, Dresden-Style.Nigella states that while she "can't fashion wreaths or fold napkins", she does have a knack for making relishes and chutneys. If you have already submitted another request to index a book or magazine yourself, please do not make any additional requests until you have indexed and submitted that book or magazine. I loved the sound of this but actually found the cointreau overpowered the drink and couldn't really taste the Earl Grey. It includes everything from Christmas cakes and puddings, to quick and easy homemade presents (biscuits, preserves and other standbys), recipes for feeding friends and family over the holiday season with minimum stress and maximum enjoyment (cook and freeze ahead or slow-cook in the oven), as well as Christmas party food and drinks. The piece de resistance is the Cranberry sauce that I make copious quantities of to give to loved ones each year.
