Its light and fresh scent transports us to the heart of a morning in the woods with its invigorating cold air, surrounded by pine and citrus trees. What's more, they were probably well liked for that quality as well - there's a reason why household cleaning products have picked up on their scent.

There's not much more here than sherbet-y lemons, incense and a bit of musk and pine, but it's so nice! I think it's because of that synthetic component which I can't name, but that dominates the base of it. It is a very nice smelling fragrance with an initial strong lemon that turns to a pepper smell that is very nice too. I took my sample on holiday but I was traveling with my dad who, being used to cheap cologne, helped finish (waste) it in 2 or 3 days.

It feels like a wonderful complement when in a dressing gown before putting on my main fragrance when dressed.

Anyway, you read correctly that this was one of dear old Winston Churchill's favourite perfumes, and it is actually named after the stately home of his birth.
