Description

Semi-Metallic: Semi-metallic brake pads are suitable for any riding condition. They are less noisy than metallic brake pads and noisier than organic ones. They fall right in between the two. Auriga SUB (HD-T520), Auriga Tune (HD -T530), Auriga E-Comp (HD-E500), Auriga E-SUB (HD-E520), Auriga Twin (HD-E525), Metallic: Better suited for harsher riding conditions, such as wet weather or mud, metallic brake pads are the noisiest. However, they will also grab at the rotor the most, producing the most friction to reduce and halt speeds.

Non-Magnetic Brake Pistons: Brake pads with a break down the center, also called a slot, will work for magnetic brake pistons. No responsibility is taken for the correctness of this information. The listed offers do not constitute legally binding advertising claims of the merchants. Replacement Tektro disc brake pads. Compatible with all Tektro disc callipers and some TRP disc callipers. Shimano original replacement padsE01S,ShimanoAltus, Acera, Alivio, Deore, LX, SLX, XTR, Saint, Tourney, Ultegra, Nexave, Mechanical and Hydraulic range.Pin Clip: If your brake caliper has a pin clip, remove it before removing the retaining pin. Remove the retaining pin and either pull the brake pads up or push them down and out. The ceramic compound offers powerful yet quiet vibration damping braking performance also resulting in better feel on lever response and a longer lifespan than Organic or Semi-Metallic compound. The ceramic compound is very stable under a wide range of temperatures for consistent performance, excellent brake thermal recovery and smooth, progressive and controlled braking with exceptional lever response. Ceramic pads are longer lasting compared to Semi-Metallic or Organic pads and extremely rotor friendly with minimum impact on rotor wear which will massively increase rotor lifetime compared to use with Sintered pads. Magnetic: If your brake caliper is magnetic, this means that a magnet holds the brake pads against the pistons. If there is a retaining pin and/or clip, remove it and then remove the brake pads.

It isn't easy to spot contaminated brake pads with the naked eye. If your brakes squeal or squeak or your rotor appears to be a darker color with oil smears, it's a sign that your brake pads may be contaminated. Mechanical disc brakes use a cable wire to push one pad toward the rotor. This cable wire can stretch resulting in inconsistent performance. Hydraulic disc brakes use a non-compressible fluid to push both pads towards the rotor the result is improved braking power and modulation. Braking performance is critical for the faster class 3 e-bikes. We often get asked which replacement brake pad to get. We have created this guide to help you identify your brake pad type. Organic: Ideal for dryer climates, organic brake pads make the least amount of noise and feel smoother. These brake pads will not feel as intense when grabbing onto the rotor.

How To Change Disc Brake Pads

The disadvantage is that Hydraulic disc brakes systems are several times more expensive than mechanical disc brakes. However the actual brake pads are about the same cost. The Shimano B01S is one of the most common brake pads used in the industry. Almost every bicycle repair shop will have B01S. This pad is used on at least 45 different brake systems spanning across many different brands. It is used on hydraulic and mechanical disc brakes. Note: A bicycle repair stand would be helpful, but it's not necessary. You can also flip your ebike upside down so the wheels are upright and free to work with. If working with your ebike flipped upside down, be wary of your ebike display, handlebar controls, and any additional accessories placed on your handlebar; Adjust them accordingly or temporarily remove them to avoid any damage while in the upside down position.
