Description

This is a great paper on which to practice with your Copics without the worry of using too much ink or having bleed-through. The backside of the card is uncoated and can be written on which makes this not just Copic marker friendly but also fountain pen friendly too. In the 19th century, deckled edges were seen to be imperfections in the papermaking process, and would be trimmed. If your copier or printer paper is compatible to print on both sides, then using the backside will be fine for practising.

It can work with dry media as well, but when used with markers, it prevents bleeding and absorbing too much of the ink.

As for covers, hardbound covers have more to offer in terms of protection and longevity than paper or fabric covers. Laser cutters – An expensive way to cut your paper but it can repeatedly cut exactly the same CAD drawing using a thin burning laser beam.

While hot pressed, NOT, and rough are used almost universally by watercolour paper manufacturers to describe the texture of their papers, the actual surface textures vary greatly between manufacturers, or even between batches (particularly with handmade papers). It’s unlikely that you’ve given much thought to the many varieties and qualities of paper unless you’re an artist or a printmaker. For this reason, the paper can be an excellent alternative for Copic markers due to the amount of alcohol substance used in this art medium. The key here is to choose good paper for alcohol markers so that you extend the life of your artwork. Many different varieties of paper are available to meet the needs of various applications or industries.

Today, sketch paper can be anything from stiff to flimsy, light to heavy, smooth or textured, small or extra-large, coated and uncoated, etc. In terms of functionality, Marker papers should be used for alcohol markers, whereas layout papers should be used for brainstorming and designing the final product’s layout and design. If you have your hand raised and your pulling the tape at ninety degrees from the painting it is likely to tear the paper. You can perform a test swatch on this paper if you have concerns about how certain colors will perform.

Imagine what light does to colour from an angle over a period of time or simply as a shadow is this not the desired effect?

Sizing provides a little water resistance, so that the paint does not sink too much into the paper, and partially sits on the surface. The bright white paper retains the original colours of your Copics even when viewed on-screen after scanning. This is great if you are working in a small area or in your lap and don’t have room for the flap to lay out flat.Leave the tape on until your painting is completely dry, and then, when peeling the tape, peel it away slowly, and pull the tape so your hand is up against the tape that is still stuck to the painting. The translucent paper is 24 lb (90 gsm) thick, smooth, and bleed-proof enough to be used with liquid mediums. Wet mediums are more demanding and less predictable in general, and the mistakes made with them are harder to fix. There are a lot of high-quality sketchbooks, but mostly it’s not just about the quality, it’s about the artist’s personal preferences.
