Work with togetherto identify a ‘caring’ way of talking to people compared to an 'uncaring'way. Discuss their reasoning. How does the persons reaction change if they are listening and responding caringly? How might this work at home? How can we talk caringly? Has your child got a favourite sportsperson? This could be their P.E. teacher! Ask them to write an information booklet about this person. They can research or use any facts they know. Can you describe their expressions and body language? Look at the illustrations of Heather when she is turning her torch on and off. How is she feeling? How can you tell?
