Iused to be able to record 6 or 7 channels at once providing they were on the same MUX or IP channels. After a long wait, UK ISP BT has today finally announced the launch of a new set-top-box for their broadband-based Pay TV ( IPTV) service – TV Box Pro, which among other things will finally add WiFi and High Dynamic Range (HDR) video support. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data.

There are two variants of the DTR-T4000, all initial variants did come with a 1TB HDD, though BT appear to have downgraded recent units to 500GB. You can also pause live TV, and record up to 600 hours of standard definition TV, 250 hours of high definition TV and 60 hours of Ultra HD TV. It won’t be able to do the hardware decoding necessary for the next generation of HEVC required for 8k content. Things have improved greatly and the remote control (lengthy but light) works nicely in tandem with the operating system, which is enjoyable to use, moving slickly along its two-tier carousel of options that appears at the bottom of the screen.BT states that the new IP capable box is “ designed to support the future of all IP streaming and works with BT Smart Hubs and Complete Wi-Fi as well as the BT TV mobile app,” so it may be that they’ll have further features to unveil in the future. To me, that looks like Humax are abandoning YouView in favour of the newer Freeview Play, as pretty much every other STB and TV manufacturer has done. is more than enough for all broadcast and streaming content that we will see over the next few years at least. It’s also worth checking the BT site for compatibility, as some older TVs will not play nicely with this box.

It's a very small neat box with funky leds to show one or two channels recording ( blue - watching, red- recording). BT keeps claiming its at the forefront of broadcast technology so prove it — give us punters the access to your claims. Note that the IP content including BT Sport will not work if you use a different make of router, and that the Humax box isn't wireless. If you've any questions, or not sure what you need to get for your device, just get in touch and we'll advise. Thanks, not really seeing anything in there that i'd miss apart from padding and even then i haven't had to use that in the last year or so.

But if the UI and speed of the T4000 are the same as the T2100 I think I'll make do without an app and hope Manhattan introduce one soon. We’ve seen such great feedback since launching our flexible TV plans and now the award-winning platform is about to enter the next generation of viewing. This will mean trailing a long cable to your router but it will be worth it for the performance when streaming the 4K channel.

Recording two live UHD football matches (five hours and eight minutes in total) filled nine per cent of the hard disk, according to the onscreen info.

Sky (Sky Q HDR) and Virgin Media (Virgin TV 360) have both issued upgraded versions of their kit in the past year or so, which is something that BT can’t ignore. BT TV makes use of the YouView+ platform and technology, which means you get an EPG that scrolls back seven days as well as forwards and allows you to record shows from the past week so long as they are also contained within the relevant on-demand engine (iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4, Demand 5, BT Player, Now TV, Milkshake! To help satiate your desire for 2,160p material, there’s a handful of short promos in 4K designed to show off the format, located in the BT TV portal.Sadly, BT couldn’t tell us precisely why the WiFi won’t be ready at launch or when the update will be released, but we can speculate. BT supplies an HDMI cable in the box, which you won’t need to change, as Expert Reviews has proved that expensive cables make no difference to picture quality.
