It's no secret that baby feeding can get messy - especially when they start to learn how to feed themselves. From using their hands to explore unique food textures, spitting out food they don't like (it happens to us all), or throwing their little food-covered hands up in excitement, it might feel like your kitchen, and their clothes, will never be clean again. When baby starts teething, sometimes they won’t feel any pain or discomfort. But because they can’t tell you what they’re experiencing, there are some common signs you can look out for. You may also find that they are feeling more irritable, crying, restless, reddened cheeks, sore gums, off their food, unsettled nights and chewing.

At Nuby, we know it can be hard to know what to do, especially when your little one isn’t feeling the best. But help is at hand! Your dentist will be able to advise you on what to do and usually the teeth are left in place. The only exceptions might be if the tooth is mobile and there is a risk of inhalation, if it is rubbing on the tongue and causing an ulcer, or if it is affecting feeding. Your dentist will also be able to give you some tips on keeping the teeth clean in a gentle way. When do I start brushing baby’s teeth? Here at Nuby, we have some great ideas for things you can do to make it easier for your baby, and as with all things baby, it’s about finding what works best for them. Teethers Typically you’ll see baby’s bottom front teeth (incisors) come in first, usually around 5 to 7 months. The top front teeth tend to come through at about 6 to 8 months. Teeth tend to emerge in pairs. The soft absorbent cotton bibs keep baby dry and have a secure velcro fastening to hold them in place. It’s totally normal for teething to happen any time from around 4 months, up to a year, or even a bit older. For most babies, it’s around the 6 to 9 month mark – but don’t worry if it’s earlier or later. As a new parent, it’s natural to wonder when your little one is going to reach their first milestones and what to do when he or she gets there. Take control of mealtime messes with this roll-up, super soft silicone Roly-Poly Bib with a handy scoop to collect all the bits little hands drop or little mouths miss. Baby-led weaning and on-the-go feeding doesn’t need to be a stressy or messy affair when you’ve got this handy roly-poly bib for the support!

So, then baby will have a little row of four top and bottom teeth and you’ll notice that adorable toothy smile! The top lateral incisors (either side of the top front teeth) typically come in next, from around 9 -11 months, followed by the bottom lateral incisors (either side of the bottom front teeth) anytime from 10 – 12 months. Nuby’s bandana teething bibs are ideal for when babies are drooling and teething. The soft absorbent cotton bibs keep baby dry and have a secure velcro fastening to hold them in place. Features a teething corner, with multiple textured surfaces, to chew on as new teeth break through. Reversible designs, 100% cotton and machine washable (30⁰ wash) - do not tumble dry or iron. Wash before initial use, warm wash on gentle cycle. Our quality non toxic teething toys provide a safe and clean chewing surface, offering comfort and relief when needed most. We have a wide range of teething toys that are gentle on emerging teeth and gums. For babies who often like to gnaw on things, our soft silicone teethers are the best option, as they are soft enough that they won’t hurt your child’s teeth but are strong enough to withstand the constant biting. Our innovative teething mittens will help massage sore gums while preventing your child from biting their hands. Features a teething corner, with multiple textured surfaces, to chew on as new teeth break through.

There are different types of baby bib fabrics depending on what you’re using them for. Milk and drool bibs are usually made of cotton or other absorbent materials to soak up liquid, while food bibs are made of silicone or synthetic materials so they can be easily wiped clean. You’ll want to buy bibs that can protect skin and clothing underneath, are easy to clean, and feel comfy for your baby to wear. Not to mention, they should be cute for taking photos of your baby! Teething is when your baby’s teeth start to come through their gums and it’s a key time for every child.

Every baby is different and there’s no one size fits all when it comes to getting their first teeth. By the time your baby is between 2 ½ and 3, you can expect them to have their full set of 20 milk teeth. Can my baby be born with teeth? One of the most surprising things you’ll learn when you have a baby is how many different types of bibs there are — and how many you’ll end up using! Whether drinking from bottles, eating solids, blowing raspberries, or teething, babies are constantly making messes that require outfit changes if they’re not wearing bibs.
