These extras add a lot of functionality—the profile-switch button even lights up to indicate which profile you're using, a surprisingly rare and helpful feature. While most keys are reprogrammable (all except the profile switch one, in fact), there are six dedicated macro keys down the left-hand side. Pressing the keys feels results in a fast and responsive actuation, as the best mechanical switches do, and it's particularly useful for fast-paced gaming such as in first-person shooters. There's a wide range of preset lighting configurations accessible through a drop-down menu and from there you can customize anything—color, speed, etc—fairly easily. Corsair has been one of the leading forces in the growth of mechanical keyboards in the last five years, steadily improving, upgrading, and expanding its range and occasionally being the first to market with certain features or new switches. It's slightly flatter than the hard plastic rest, but is much more comfortable and adds good support, especially if your chair has arm rests to keep your elbows level. These linear switches allow you to go straight down to the actuation point without a bump, and have a very low pre-travel distance. There are a few processes I wish were easier to find, such as updating the firmware, but those are minor gripes.

Dedicated media controls and a nice metal volume wheel sit above the number pad, with lighting controls and a Windows key lock on the above right. I suppose you could try to improve them through the band-aid, clip, and lube mod, but the keyboard is not hot-swappable. I know Far Cry 5 came out with lighting effects on the Corsair K95, but I don’t have the game so I can’t test.As I said, I can’t find a long list of supported games using the iCue software or RGB capabilities of the Corsair mechanical keyboard.
