The book was just a basic primer on what you need to know for birth— the stages of labor, how to pack a hospital bag, writing a birth plan. After reading many books to help prepare for the birth of my baby, I really feel this one gave me many tools that me and my partner will be able to use.

Essentially, it's a form of antenatal education, an approach to birth that is both evidence-based and logical. Anything that helps me identify tension and learn how to relax is (I imagine) going to be a good thing, so this book does a good job of that.It has really changed my outlook on labour and birth, and I can honestly say I feel excited rather than terrified. Expert hypnobirthing teacher and founder of The Positive Birth Company Siobhan Miller has made it her mission to change the way women around the world approach and experience birth. I gave birth to my first baby on 21st April and used loads of the hypnobirthing techniques but also wanted a hospital birth and pain relief.

I seen a video of this girl that did a home birth and she recommended this book for all new time moms or just anyone wanting to have a bit and slight ease of information during pregnancies. Don't get fooled by the title of the book "hypnobirthing", it really doesn't have anything to do with hypnosis.In definitiva, utile per certi versi ma si sta parlando di una persona che sostanzialmente vende quello che racconta e purtroppo questo l’ho avvertito tanto. I'm all for positive birth stories, and empowering women to believe that they can have a positive birth experience.

Edit: although ended up not giving birth naturally, this book put me in the right mindset and I am forever thankful.And then, from that point onwards, whether it's your first baby or your fourth, your life changes forever as you embark on the journey of raising this small person. Miller describes active labour as "a spa experience to be soaked up" and pushing as "an amazing sensation you'll want to experience again and again".
