They have undergone several rounds of testing to ensure professional-grade build, making them ideal for DJs and music producers. The EP-N12’s have worse, more condensed sound than the A30, and the ANC isn’t as good when dealing with lower frequencies. Still, the included carrying case offers good portability, while an IPX4 rating ensures protection from sweat.

Ideal for a more analytical listen, the Sennheiser HD560S also sport an open-backed design that you may have been looking for. While that means a person on the other side might hear you quietly typing on a keyboard, you’ll avoid sounding muffled. The OneOdio A10 are not great at providing passive isolation, possibly due to the shape and materials of the earcups. It handles mid-distance conversations well, but any further and it may struggle - if someone is shouting at you from the other side of the room, you'll probably hear it, but you may not be able to decipher every word. They do have a nice design and a very long battery life, but they also don’t fare too well in terms of sound quality. You can fit 2 and a half knuckles inside the earpads, which isn’t enough to fully accommodate human ears.

Much like the rest of closed-back, over-ear headphones, the A30 reduce the loudest sounds around you. As OneOdio’s wired flagship, the Pro-50 Studio is Hi-Res certified and has upgraded 50mm drivers designed for a quote “accurate sound with a detailed high-end and well-tuned mid-range, plus a clear low-end with a slight boost. They’re comfortable enough for daily use, have good active noise cancelling performance, more than adequate battery capacity, and excellent microphone quality. In fact they epitomise the kind of sound signature that I don’t like: there is no balance whatsoever, making it so that bass leaks over mids and treble has wild peaks that make it fatiguing.

A full charge takes just over two hours and the promised “five minutes = two hours of wireless ANC listening” fast-charge facility worked as advertised. The difference between the two modes is mostly in the bass, which gets surprisingly flat with ANC function enabled.

Living in Glasgow, Scotland but born and raised near Milan, Italy, I got the passion for music listening as a legacy from my father and my grandfather.Going into the more positive side, earpads use soft pleather with tight stitching that doesn’t seem cheap. OneOdio says you should use this for DJing (and I can’t say anything about this, as this is a field I don’t know enough about), as well as monitoring and mixing; I very much doubt that these headphones can be good for mixing, due to their heavily coloured signature that can mask details and give a wrong impression of how the music really sounds. Thanks to many ports, you can also share the output by plugging in more than one cable at a time, which is ideal for letting someone listen in on your work or simply sharing a tune. The cable is a little short, so you may not end up using this - I found it too short to use at my desk, at least.
