If you're using a camera which, for technical reasons, makes ISO 200 a good choice, don't be afraid of it. I once read an article that ISO 200 was the lowest sensitivity available in filmI have shot film with box ISO(ASA) rating as low as 16 and there are several currently available emulsions with rated speed below ISO 50*.

Advantages: Very, very long, almost perfectly straight-line characteristic curve, great latitude made it ideal for variable developments, both longer and shorter, water-bath development, special compensating formulas. For entry-level DSLRs and mirrorless cameras, you probably need to open a menu (possibly the “quick menu”) and find the section for ISO. Sensitivity between film and digital differ in one important way: films of a specific ISO were engineered to be that ISO and their emulsion crystal structure results in their ISO rating whereas digital sensors have a native and fixed sensitivity to light and use computer algorithms to compensate for over-and underexposure due to changes in sensitivity. In this section, we will quickly address some of those concerns so that you are not misled about this topic in the future. So, overall: I don't think there's a special problem with ISO 200, but I do think it falls in a less-used middle point. IWhile common opinion** is that the base ISO for current Pentax dSLRs is 200, there are still advantages (as noted above) to using lower values for some cases. Meanwhile in America there were a few companies trying to create their own standard (including Weston and General Electric) - which would also involve them selling meters and booklets to inform the growing crowd of professional and amateur photographers. Immerse yourself in the summery vibes as your images come alive with vivid hues and an enchanting nostalgic touch.

The difference is clear – the image at ISO 3200 has much more noise than the one at ISO 200 (which I brightened with a long shutter speed instead). The increasing complexity of different standards lead to tables such as these becoming neccesary for amateur film photographers to pack in their camera bags!

I have a canon Rebel XSI, and have printed several pictures of dark scenes with lots of solid blocks of color (areas where noise shows strongest) shot at ISO 1600 and you can't even see the noise. The robust yet sleek build utilises unique isolation technology, resulting in improved audio reproduction and accuracy. It’s fun to try other speeds, and high-speed film has its place, but I always come back to consumer-grade 200 film.
