I remember when metal gear solid first came out, me and my partner at that time, had a flat, you know, young couple, not too shabby, 28 inch TV that was the envy of friends lol Fixed an issue where continually holding down certain buttons sometimes resulted in errors occuring (PlayStation 4) There aren't any noticeable changes to the original games aside from this. As a result, each one begins with a content warning, noting that some of the game's "expressions and themes may be considered outdated" but "have been included without alteration to preserve the historical context in which the game was made and the creator’s original vision." While this doesn't point to any specific examples, it doesn't take long before Snake's hitting on the first two female characters you meet in the original Metal Gear Solid. There's also a plot point that centers on the shape of Meryl's posterior, leering shots of Eva's cleavage in Snake Eater, discussions of some heavy incest themes, and a scene where the president grabs Raiden's crotch unprompted to confirm his sex, to name just a few controversial and outdated moments. These instances are cringy, gratuitous, and sometimes uncomfortable, but I also think Konami's approach is the correct one, otherwise each game would have to be significantly altered.

Metal Gear ( Nintendo Entertainment System / Famicom version) – A unique standalone installment that offers a fresh twist on the original Metal Gear‘s story and game system. Snake’s Revenge– This ambitious Metal Gear sequel for Nintendo Entertainment System was developed with players outside of Japan in mind. New game elements were introduced to the series, including the now-mainstay searchlight mechanic. The Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and beginning of the Metal Gear series, including the original versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (which also includes VR Missions / Special Missions), and the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Latest Reviews

Spin-off titles such as Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appear to be left off, but at least all four main-line games are said to be included. It was probably 5 hours, the two of us, me with the wired controller on the sofa and him sat on the floor. Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel– A fully-voiced digital comic depicting the events of Metal Gear Solid through beautifully dynamic animated panels. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater ( HD Collection version) – The story that tells the beginning of the epic saga. It covers the events of both Virtuous Mission and Operation Snake Eater, detailing how the man code-named Naked Snake earned the title of Big Boss. While previous games in the Metal Gear series took place in more urban settings and involved infiltrating buildings, this game is set in an unforgiving jungle. In addition to hiding in the shadows, players can use uniforms and face paint as camouflage to blend in with their surroundings. This gameplay system was expanded upon in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. An edition boasting the ultimate survival experience called Subsistence was released later. This title was the fifth game released in the official history of the Metal Gear franchise.

Fixed an issue where some buttons were assigned multiple functions (Details on the updated controls are available in the Online Manual) Metal Gear: Snake's Revenge wasn't worked on by series creator Hideo Kojima, so it's not considered canon. This is simply a neat inclusion from the Master Collection; the actual sequel to Metal Gear is Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, not this. Play it if you like, but you're not missing out on much. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection: What to Play First The biggest question for Metal Gear fans, of course, is what exactly is included in this collection. Here’s a bullet-pointed rundown: KundaliniRising333 Schills? Interesting term. I concur that this release is far from perfect. Most of the genuine outrage I see is geared towards the PC Steam releases which have more concerning issues than console versions. As for the console versions MGS1 and 2 seem to be the only ones with some issues currently (sound and some visual effects) that can easily remedied in a patch. This not an excuse, but a mere correction to stamp out the exaggerated claims. MGS3 however, I haven't noticed any glaring issues on the same level. Some speedrunners claim this is the best modern re-release of the game. Patch 1.3.0 resolves the following issues, some of which are platform-specific, and you can peruse the complete list below:

Given the power Konami has access to in the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and top-of-the-range PCs, this is somewhat of a disappointment. So much more could have been done — even just on the purely resolution and frame rate end — to make these three classics shine once more. They still do as the unique direction of Hideo Kojima is clear to see, but it's smeared somewhat by PS1 pixels and dated PS3 visuals.

Before there was Metal Gear Solid, there was Metal Gear. First released on the MSX, the Master Collection respects its roots by allowing you to experience the origins of the series. Played from a top-down perspective, these games are quite a lot different from the Metal Gear Solid entries, but they are important for continuing the story on from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. This isn't an essential playthrough, though. See Also An issue that causes the mic audio from game clips captured using console features to not save (Xbox Series X|S) I personally am thinking they're just not wanting to record a whole ass other video for credits. As anyone that has worked on them can tell you...it's actually not that simple to get credits up and running, it's an actual video file they put in the game most of the time, and it's kind of a pain to re-record, and who knows if their names are still the same? People could have gotten married, divorced, just changed their name.

Said was I coming out I said nope, playing new game, he sat down on the floor in front of me to have a look and I kid you not, he was transfixed. I guess it's petty, but everyone is still credited in each game, so...idk doesn't seem like too big a deal. It is pretty petty, but also...it's so petty that I both don't really care, and think it's kinda funny they'd do this little thing just to slight Kojima.

The visuals still fall well short of today's standards, but I'm in favor of retaining as much of the original games as possible. This doesn't mean Konami had to leave them alone completely, though. Other similar collections have added optional visual improvements, allowing you to swap between the original game and an updated version with greater graphical fidelity. Maybe this doesn't make sense in Snake Eater's case since a fully-fledged remake is already in development, but the Master Collection would've been elevated by including some optional advancements to modernize MGS and MGS2. am rolls on, the door goes and my partner walks in with friends and kebabs in tow, (remember, this was before mobiles were absolutely everywhere), and said where you 2 been all night!!! Volume 1 line-up features the original titles and beginning of the METAL GEAR series, including the original versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (which also includes VR Missions/Special Missions), and the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty ( HD Collection version) – This game depicts two different events: Solid Snake investigating a new kind of Metal Gear as part of the Tanker Incident, as well as FOXHOUND’s newest member, Raiden, taking on a group of terrorists who have captured an off-shore facility in the Big Shell Incident. This game, released on the PlayStation 2, introduced players to the character of Raiden, who inherited many techniques and ideas from Solid Snake. In addition to a first-person aiming feature, players also had access to a variety of new actions, such as holding up enemies and also disposing of their bodies. It was labeled “the best gameplay system of the 21st century.” An ultimate edition of the game called Substance was released later. This title was the fourth game released in the official history of the Metal Gear franchise. And this news is one that will make many PlayStation fans extremely happy.
